About Telangana Housing Board

The Telangana Housing Board, headquartered in Hyderabad, is a public sector organisation responsible for planning and developing residential and commercial projects in the state. The board was originally established in 1911 by Nizam Osman Ali Khan under the name City Improvement Board. Later, in 1960, it was renamed the Telangana Housing Board.

Indiramma Housing Scheme – Eligibility, Benefits and Documents

The Telangana government has allocated Rs 22,000 crore to implement the Indiramma Housing Scheme. Under this scheme, the government will provide land and financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to eligible families to construct a house. The plan aims to build 20 lakh houses in the next four years.

Indiramma Indlu Scheme (Launched 2024)

In December 2024, the Telangana Chief Minister launched the updated version of the scheme known as the Indiramma Indlu Housing Scheme. The first phase has a budget of Rs 3,000 crore and includes 4,50,000 sanctioned houses, with a minimum of 3,500 houses allotted across each of the 119 constituencies.

Application submission for this scheme is done through the Indiramma mobile app, where applicants upload Aadhaar details, income information, land details and family status. Officials will visit the applicant’s location for physical verification. Members belonging to tribal communities living in ITDA areas will get priority under this scheme.


Gruha Lakshmi Scheme for Dalit Women

The Gruha Lakshmi Scheme is one of the most significant welfare programs in Telangana. It is designed exclusively for Dalit women who do not own a permanent house. The government has allocated Rs 12,000 crore to construct 4 lakh houses, and an additional amount has been set aside to reach a total target of 10 lakh houses.

The 2BHK Housing Scheme was launched in 2015 to provide free double-bedroom houses to poor families who cannot afford to buy or construct a house. The Telangana State Housing Corporation is responsible for implementation. The scheme covers rural as well as urban areas and is meant for Below Poverty Line families.


Telangana Housing Board Property Auctions

Apart from welfare schemes, the Telangana Housing Board also conducts e-auctions of residential and commercial plots. In 2025, auctions were scheduled for locations such as KPHB Colony, Nampally, Chintal and Raviryala near the airport. These auctions are conducted through the MSTC portal.
