Brookfield India Real Estate Trust has announced plans to raise up to ₹3,500 crore by selling shares to institutional investors through a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP). The company’s board has approved the plan, setting the floor price at ₹287.55 per share. This comes after the stock closed at ₹290.73 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Last month, Brookfield’s unitholders gave their approval for the company to raise this amount. The funds will be collected in one or more rounds, depending on market conditions.

The money raised will help Brookfield India REIT reduce its debt by repaying loans. It will also be used for general purposes like operational expenses, capital investments, and potential business expansions. The company plans to use the funds to grow both organically, by improving its current operations, and inorganically, through new acquisitions.

Brookfield India REIT owns a large portfolio of high-quality office properties in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Gurugram, Noida, and Kolkata. These properties cover 28.9 million square feet of leasable space. Out of this, 24.3 million square feet are already operational, 0.6 million square feet are under construction, and 4 million square feet are planned for future development.

This fundraising move will help Brookfield India REIT strengthen its financial position, reduce debt, and invest in growth opportunities. With its prime locations and well-maintained assets, the company is well-prepared to continue growing in India’s real estate market.
