What’s the Current Status of the Project?
Although the project was proposed back in 2021, it hasn't started yet. The major reason behind the delay is the rejection of the initial Detailed Project Report (DPR). The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and NHAI are now preparing a revised DPR with detailed studies, surveys, and design plans.
The DPR is a crucial document as it covers route alignment, land acquisition needs, construction planning, environmental impact, and cost estimates. Once this report is approved, land acquisition will begin and the construction can officially start.
Budget and Planning
The government has already sanctioned a budget of ₹80 lakh for DPR development. Ground-level surveys, consultations with local authorities, and district-level inspections are ongoing. The focus is on using barren government-owned land wherever possible to reduce displacement and avoid affecting agricultural or residential zones.
